This is a new service provided for students that makes your course materials available to you digitally, within your class on Moodle, on the first day of class
NO, there is a charge for the eTextbooks and/or Courseware. This price is extremely competitive and even cheaper than purchasing direct from the publisher. The charge varies slightly from book to book and is automatically added to your OCCC student account.
YES, colleges and universities all over the nation are embracing this new model that provides advantages for everyone involved – students, faculty, administration, bookstores, and publishers.
YES, you can “opt out” any time during the first week of class and your student account will be refunded. Be careful! If you “opt out”, you will need to purchase your required course materials elsewhere.
Students will receive several emails that include a link to the portal with instructions and the option to “OPT OUT”. Again, make sure you are prepared to buy the materials elsewhere or click the OCCC Day One Access tool in Moodle.
YES, any time during the first week of class.
YES, that has a digital copy of the textbook online, the bookstore will carry optional copies of the printed textbook for sale for many of the courses, at a drastically reduced price. Remember though, you must remain “opted in” to be able to keep access to the Courseware.
When you drop a class during the first week, the charge for the course materials will automatically drop off of your account. If you drop the class after the first week, the charge for the course materials will remain on your account.
